Mozambique hosted the final leg of a transformative capacity-building programme designed to empower citizens to become active stewards of their shared waters.
Jointly organized by LIMCOM in partnership with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) and GroundTruth, the high-impact initiative of the “Limpopo Basin Citizen Science Training of Trainers” equipped local champions with the tools and skills to monitor, manage and safeguard the basin’s vital water resources for present and future generations.
The workshop held on 12-16 September follows a successful series of training courses across the four countries that share the Limpopo River Basin.
Botswana held its workshop on 11-13 August, while South Africa and Zimbabwe held theirs on 15-17 August and 8-10 September respectively.
With Mozambique completing the cycle, the Limpopo Basin boasts of a dynamic network of trained trainers, ready to spark change in their communities and lead the way toward inclusive, citizen-driven water governance.
